Detailed Itinerary

This itinerary may be subject to change

Day 1 -June 8. ARRIVE AREQUIPA

Arrive through Lima, and fly directly to lovely Arequipa—Peru’s second largest city.  (Depending on the times of your international arrival, you may need to arrive to Lima on June 7 and spend a night in Lima, then fly to Arequipa on the 8th). However, because of jet lag and the high altitude of the Andes, we strongly suggest that you plan to come a day or even two days early to Arequipa to acclimatize.  Arequipa is at an elevation of about 2350 meters, just over 7700 feet.   (Hotel and transfers for extra nights are not included, but we can organize it for you.)

Day 2 -June 9th. AREQUIPA/COLCA

Early departure to the Colca Canyan region. Arrive at the village of Chivay, lodging in the area. Welcome gathering and dinner.  4-star hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 3 -June 10th. The CANYON OF THE CONDORS

The elevation of Lake Titicaca is 3810 meters or 12,500 feet. (B)

Day 5 -June 12th. AJAYU MARKA & CHARKAS

Today we face our own fears as we discover the ancient Aimara altars and walk the sacred path on the Magical Serpent. We meditate and receive spiritual gifts at the Ajayu Marka doorway, also known as the Doorway of Amaru Muru, an inter-dimensional gateway. Continue to the ancient path of the pre-Inca in Charkas for a salutation to the spirit of Titicaca. At the end of the afternoon, we visit the always photogenic Temple of Fertility. Overnight in Puno. (B, Lunch)

Day 6 -June 13th. AMANTANI - LOVE ISLAND

This morning we cross the highest navigable lake in the world to the island of Amantani, visiting the famous floating islands made of reeds on the way and meeting the colorful locals who live on the lake. We continue to back to Puno and have free time to relax.(B)

Day 8 -June 15th. PUNO - WIRAQOCHA'S TEMPLE - QUECHUA PEOPLE (CAMPING)

Our highlight is a stop at the magnificent complex known as the Temple of Wiraqocha.  This is a place where the highest Andean priests and priestesses in ancient times received their initiations. We stop briefly in Cusco, continuing on to Q'enqo, a pre-Inca ceremonial spot, known as the place of the Puma. We continue to nearby Saqsaywaman, which is a gigantic, stunning site built by an unknown pre-Incan civilization. Its megalithic, zigzag stone walls were pieced together with amazing skill, creating snakes and other Andean symbols such as a lightning bolt across a great field.
