Abundance for Everyday

By Jonette Crowley, 1997

We have all heard the phrase, “Creating Abundance”. It is a catchy statement, a great slogan, but what does it really mean? What are we really creating? How does it fit into our daily lives?
As with so many words in our language, this phrase is limiting and is not quite accurate. More appropriately perhaps, would be to say that we need to recognize abundance. For we always have it, sometimes we just don’t see it in our lives.

So truly, we do not “create” abundance, but we do create the attitude or environment that is conducive to attracting, recognizing and accepting abundance. For this kind of creating, we often need a little help. We have been programmed for too long that prosperity is not ours for the asking and it is difficult to overcome these implanted ideas.

Over the years I have come up with a few principles or steps that have helped me in my life. None of these are new or profound, but it is important and helpful to reiterate and embrace these ideas.

The first point to get across to you is it is all in the flow! Being centered, being connected, being spiritual and open all mean being in the flow of your life. This is the point of real acceptance when everything just comes easier to you and you give up trying to understand and analyze your every movement.

The second important point is that you always get the energy back that you are coming from. Even when abundance comes, it will be carrying the energy reflected in your request. That is why sometimes when money does come your way, it may not always be joyful or pleasant. So if you are in a needy space, the universe will make certain that you have lots of needs. If you come from the energy of pure gratitude, the universe will likewise ensure that you have much to be grateful for. Focus on the abundance that you already have, rather than on your current lack of abundance. Lack will bring more lack.

Be creative here. Wake up in the morning and realize your abundance of birds in the neighborhood, thriving plants in the house, or an abundance of sunshine, rain, whatever. Concentrate on emphasizing everything that you have and are grateful for. This helps to create a huge shift in your attitude and in the energy you put out.

Thirdly, it is vital that you have concrete goals and that you can actually feel the essence of what you want, or the essence of what your goal will do for you. It is not enough to just want more. More of what? How does it feel? Have specific goals, but try not to get caught up in the specifics of the goal. For instance, if you want a motorcycle because it will bring you more freedom, then concentrate on that free feeling that you will get from riding it and do not get stuck on the specifics of the color, model, etc. You need to get inside of your goal, enjoy it. Look at it from all angles.

Then forget about it. The fourth rule is to detach from it. Keep the feeling and the passion about it but detach from anything specific. Let go of any expectation or outcomes.

The fifth rule is to do what it takes. This is not a passive exercise. Some kind of work, preparation or effort is almost always involved. You may need to gain skills or knowledge in a new field. You may need to spend a great amount of energy. Be active. Follow leads. Your intuition is important here. If you get a hit to call someone out of the blue, do it! Dream/Detach/Do; Listen/Learn/Act.

The sixth principle is to always speak with abundance language. Keep all negativity out. Instead of saying “I can not afford to go on a trip”, say “I choose not to go at this time”. Another example would be to say “I choose to buy this less expensive dress because I like the color”. Make positive statements and be proud about your decisions. Take the word “need” out of your vocabulary and replace it with gratitude. So if you ‘need’ a new car, say instead “I am very grateful for the car that I have, however, I would also be grateful for a newer model”.

Finally, have fun with your life and be ready for anything. You are truly masters of your lives and manifesting is totally within your realm of possibilities. Play with it, believe in it and you will be most abundant.
